Place chicken thighs in a heatproof plate or shallow bowl that fits inside a steamer.

Scatter ginger slices over the chicken. Drizzle with soy sauce and water.

Bring water in a steamer or pot to a boil. Steam chicken over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, until cooked through and juices run clear.
