Lean Beef & Cheese Burger

A wholesome, home‑style burger made with lean beef mince, whole‑grain bun, reduced‑fat cheese, fresh tomato, gherkins, caramelised red onion, creamy guacamole, and light mayonnaise. It’s rich in flavour, high in protein, and balanced for blood sugar and heart health.

Ingredients
4 servings
500gground beef extra lean
1egg
large
¼ cuprolled oats
4wholegrain burger buns
4slices cheese
low-fat
1 cupgherkins
sliced
2tomatoes
sliced, medium
1 cupred onions
optional, can also be carmelised in olive oil
1 cupguacamole
optional
4 Tbsmayonnaise
optional, heart-healthy version
lettuce leaves
optional
Steak & Chops spice
to taste
salt
to taste
white pepper
to taste

Instructions
Step 1
Mix the lean beef mince with the egg, oats, steak & chop spice, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
Step 2
Grill or pan-sear the patties on medium heat with minimal olive oil until cooked through (6-7 minutes per side).
Step 3
If you want carmelised onions, slow-cook red onions with a teaspoon of olive oil until soft and sweet.
Step 4
If you want to make homemade gaucamole: mash the avocado with lemon juice, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of coriander.
Step 5
Toast the buns lightly. Layer lettuce, patty, cheese slice, tomato, gherkins, carmelised onion, gaucamole and a little mayonnaise.
Step 6
Seve immediately with a side salad or potato wedges for balance.
