The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are high altitude approved. I got this recipe from a person on Reddit who lives in Denver.
Variations:
Add 3/4 cup peanut butter
Brown the butter in place of regular softened butter
Add dark chocolate chips in place of semi sweet
Add M&Ms in place of chocolate chips

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Cream together the softened butter and sugars until light in color and fluffy in texture. Scrap down the sides as needed.
Step 3
Add the egg and vanilla and mix until well combined.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients and slowly add them to the cookie dough. Mixing until just combined. Add in the chocolate chips and allow to mix for a few more seconds.
Step 5
Using a cookie scoop (1.5 tbsp size) place 6 balls of dough on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 mins. They should be barely brown on the edges, but look overall underdone in the middle.
Step 6
Allow to cool on the pan for 5-10 mins and then transfer to a wire rack.
