Instructions

Step 1
For the jam: preheat an oven to 400F. Toss the plums, cherries, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon together in a baking dish. Roast for about 30 minutes. Mash lightly with a fork and let it cool completely.
Step 2
For the sticky topping: whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, orange juice, and salt. Pour this directly onto the bottom of an ungreased baking pan and spread it into an even layer. Scatter the nuts evenly over the sugar mix.
Step 3
For the dough: whisk the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Set aside. On a stove over low heat, mix the milk and butter until the butter is melted and the mix is warm to the touch. Whisk in the yeast until dissolved. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Lightly flour a flat surface and turn dough out on it. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth. Put in a lightly greased bowl, cover loosely, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then roll the dough out to a large, thin rectangle (around 12x15 inches). Spread softened butter on top then mix cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl and sprinkle over the dough. Spoon the cooled plum and cherry jam over the cinnamon layer. Roll the dough carefully and tightly into a log and slice into 9 pieces. Arrange the rolls on top of the sugar and nuts. Cover and put somewhere warm for 60-90 minutes until they double in size.
Step 4
To bake: preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 24-27 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove and put pan on wire rack to cool a little while you make glaze.
Step 5
For the glaze: in a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, heavy cream, orange juice, vanilla extract, orange zest, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It should be pourable. Pour as much or as little of the glaze as you want on your rolls.
