Nut-Free Banana & Oat Flapjacks

Chewy, nut-free banana oat flapjacks sweetened with honey and studded with dark chocolate. Quick to mix, baked in a square tin, then cooled and sliced for snacks or lunchboxes.

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a 20 x 20cm square tin with baking parchment.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter and honey. Stir until smooth. You could also use a blender/food processor for this, which would make the recipe super quick to make!
Step 3
Add the oats and milled seeds and mix well until fully combined.
Step 4
Fold in the dark chocolate chips and stir through evenly. (Don’t do this step in the food processor as you don’t want the chips to break down).
Step 5
Press the mixture firmly into the lined tin using the back of a spoon. Compacting it well helps it hold together once baked.
Step 6
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden at the edges and set in the centre.
Step 7
Allow to cool before slicing into 16 squares or 12 large ones.
Step 8
Store in the freezer and defrost as needed – great for kids lunchbox!
