Instructions

Step 1
• Cream fats: Beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes). Beat in the egg, egg yolk, almond extract, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Step 2
• Mix dry ingredients: Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a firm, cohesive dough forms.
Step 3
• Chill: Wrap the dough and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
Step 4
• Bake: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Roll dough into 1-inch balls, press flat on a lined baking sheet, and press sliced almonds into the tops. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are just barely golden. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
