Instructions

Step 1
1. Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the order recommended by your machine. For most machines, add the milk, egg, and melted butter first, followed by the salt, sugar, pudding mix, and flour. Add the yeast last.
Step 2
2. Select the Dough cycle and let the bread machine knead and rise the dough.
Step 3
3. Check the dough during the first 5 minutes of kneading. It should be soft and slightly tacky. If it looks dry, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time. If it is very sticky, add flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
Step 4
4. When the Dough cycle is finished, transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.
Step 5
5. Roll the dough into approximately a 15 × 20 inch rectangle.
Step 6
CINNAMON FILLING ½ cup butter, softened 1 cup packed brown sugar 2½ tablespoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla Pinch of salt
Step 7
6. Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt into a spreadable paste.
Step 8
7. Spread the filling evenly over the rolled out dough.
Step 9
8. Roll the dough tightly from the 20 inch side.
Step 10
9. Cut into 12 rolls and place in a greased 9 × 13 inch baking dish.
Step 11
10. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes, until noticeably puffy.
Step 12
11. For extra gooey rolls, pour ½ cup heavy cream evenly over the risen rolls immediately before baking.
Step 13
12. Bake at 350°F for 22 to 27 minutes. The tops should be lightly golden and the center should be cooked but soft. If using a thermometer, the center should reach approximately 190°F to 195°F.
Step 14
13. If the tops brown before the centers are finished, loosely cover the pan with foil and continue baking.
Step 15
14. Let the rolls cool for about 10 minutes before frosting.
Step 16
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING 8 oz cream cheese, softened 8 tablespoons butter, softened 3 cups powdered sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 4 to 6 tablespoons milk ¼ teaspoon salt
Step 17
1. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
Step 18
2. Gradually add the powdered sugar.
Step 19
3. Add vanilla and salt.
Step 20
4. Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
Step 21
5. Spread generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.
