Instructions

Step 1
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, sage, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mixing them first ensures the flavor gets distributed evenly.Combine with Pork: Place your lean ground pork into a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the meat. Use your hands to gently blend the spices into the pork. Tip: Don't over-mix or pack the meat too tightly, or the patties can become tough.Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a round patty about 1/2-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indent in the center of each patty (this stops them from puffing up into balls while cooking).Cook: Heat your oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the pan. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on the first side until a nice golden crust forms.Flip and Finish: Flip the patties and cook for another 4 minutes, or until the center is no longer pink and the internal temperature hits 160°F (71°C)
