It won't be the super-thick, pudding-like gravy you get from cornstarch—it'll be more of a rich, buttery, pourable beef gravy. And honestly, that's probably what I'd do if you don't want any thickening product.

Instructions
Step 1
1. Pour 3 cups beef broth into a saucepan.

3. Let it simmer uncovered for about 15–20 minutes, whisking occasionally.

4. Continue reducing until you have about 2 cups of broth. This concentrates the beef flavor and naturally makes it a little thicker.

5. Stir in 3 tbsp butter.

6. Add pepper and salt to taste.

7. Simmer another 1–2 minutes.
