Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Step 2
Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
Step 3
In a separate bowl combine egg, milk, corn syrup, and melted butter into a large bowl.
Step 4
Add the ingredients to wet ingredients . Mix really well until everything is combined. (There may be a few lumps in batter)
Step 5
Pour your beautiful mixture into a 9 in cast iron skillet, greased muffin tin or a 9 in x 9 in pan. Which ever one you have will work.
Step 6
Bake for 15 minutes or until knife or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7
Always allow to cool slightly before slicing and servings.
