8 steps
Prep:30minCook:2h 25min
easy versatile bread rolls that suit any occasion. I like to freestyle sometimes with flavours, but this is optional.
I listed the bread rolls as Italian herbs and cheese rolls, but you can leave these out if you want them plain.

Instructions
Step 1
- Mix flour, yeast, sugar and salt in one big bowl. If you’re adding the herbs, add them here.
Step 2
- In another smaller one, mix water, milk and egg.
Step 3
- Slowly whisk the wet mix into the dry mix until fully incorporated. Now knead for about 10 min until it becomes shiny and smooth. If your adding cheese, add it here.
Step 4
- Leave to rest in a lightly oiled bowl either overnight in the fridge (+-8 hours) or room temperate (+-1 hour), until it has doubled in size. (Overnight yields the best results)
Step 5
- Cut the dough into 8 pieces and roll them into smooth balls. Again, cover and leave to rise for about 45min before baking.
Step 6
- Pre heat the oven to 180C.
Step 7
- Brush the rolls with the egg wash and bake in the oven for about 15-20min.
Step 8
- Remove from oven and let the buns cool down enough.
