Ingredients

Olive oil
large drizzle for cooking
1 lbsground turkey
1onion
large, diced
1bell pepper
yellow or red, diced
3garlic cloves
minced
2 Tbspchili seasoning
homemade
3 cupsvegetable broth
or water
3 Tbsptomato paste
2 x 14.5 ozkidney beans
cans
28 ozstewed tomatoes
can
1 ½ cfrozen corn
Brown sugar
molasses, or maple syrup, to taste
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Prep vegetables and homemade chili seasonings. Mince garlic.
Step 2
Heat drizzle of oil in large pot or dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add turkey and vegetables to pot, breaking the meat into bits.
Step 3
Saute turkey and vegetables until turkey is brown and veggies are starting to turn tender. Add a dash of salt, to taste. Turn down heat if the mixture is cooking too fast.
Step 4
Add chili seasoning and garlic. Saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 5
Add tomato paste, beans, and tomatoes and enough broth/water to cover meat, beans, and veggies. Season with salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for at 15 minutes to cook veggies and reduce liquid.
Step 7
Add frozen corn and stir until corn is distributed in chili.
Step 8
Add sweetener of choice to taste. And continue to simmer on low heat to let flavors meld.
