Sugar Cookies

I got this recipe off of TikTok @liviabenson. So I’m not sure exactly how many servings this recipe makes, or the prep time exactly. I put this recipe on Whisk because I use this app for all my recipes, and it’s easier for me that way to keep everything together rather than a video in my camera roll. I hope you enjoy these cookies!

1 tspbaking soda
½ tspbaking powder
¼ tspsalt

Instructions
Cookie Dough
Step 1
Preheat oven to convection 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Step 2
Beat room temperature butter in stand mixer/by hand for 3-5 minutes (or until butter turns off-white).
Step 3
Add in brown and white sugar. Beat the sugar with the butter until the mixture is fluffy (about 2 minutes).
Step 4
Add your egg and stir into mixture.
Step 5
Mix in vanilla.
Step 6
Add flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder to form your dough. If using a stand mixer, mix on low. If mixing by hand, use a spatula.
Step 7
Use a 1/3 cup scoop, and place on baking tray. THIS IS YOUR TEST COOKIE!
Step 8
After baking your test cookie, place cookie dough balls on your tray. Use your test cookie to estimate how many cookies you can fit on your tray.
Step 9
Bake cookies for 12-14 minutes (for 1/3 cup scoop).
Step 10
let cookies sit on tray for about 10 minutes before removing.
Frosting
Step 11
Beat butter and shortening together until mixture turns off-white.
Step 12
Then add your powdered sugar until fully incorporated.
Step 13
Lastly add your heavy cream and extracts. Whip the mixture to let the heavy cream fluffen your mixture. If you want, mix frosting with a spatula to take away some of the air bubbles (this will help you avoid air bubbles when piping it out)
