Aloo besan tikki is a savoury patty made from potatoes and gram flour. Tastes great with mint chutney or tomato ketchup. Eaten on its own but can also be eaten in a bun or a sandwich.

Ingredients
4 servings
5potatoes
peeled and boiled
½ teaspoonsalt
1 teaspoonred chilli powder
½ teaspoongaram masala
1 teaspoonground coriander
1 teaspoonchaat masala
½ teaspooncoriander seeds
½ teaspooncumin seeds
½ teaspoonpomegranate seeds
dried
4green chillies
finely chopped
1onion
peeled and finely chopped
200ggram flour
100mlwater
½ teaspoonground black pepper
3 tablespoonoil
Instructions
Step 1
Mash the potatoes and add 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder and all the remaining ingredients except the gram flour, the water, the black pepper and the oil. Mix well.
Step 2
Divide the mixture into eight portions, then roll each portion into a ball and flatten it in the palm of your hand.
Step 3
In a bowl add the gram flour, water, black pepper, half a teaspoon of red chilli powder, and 1/2 a teaspoon of coriander powder.
Step 4
Mix to make a smooth batter .
Step 5
Gently press both sides of the potato patties into the batter to coat .
Step 6
Heat oil in a frying pan. Once hot, fry the patties on medium heat for 2 minutes on each side.
