Instructions

Step 1
Heat large pot on medium low heat, add olive oil, onions and jalapeno to the pot and saute for 4-5 minutes, add garlic and saute for another minute stirring occasionally throughout.
Step 2
Add turkey to pot, brown meat and drain once cooked through. Add tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, paprika and cayenne and saute for a minute to develop flavour, add cans of stewed diced tomatoes, can of beans in tomato sauce, black beans and salt to taste.
Step 3
Reduce heat to low simmer and cover, let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove lid and allow to simmer for another 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the flavours have come together and the chili has reduced and thickened slightly *Make sure you taste as you are letting it simmer to adjust salt and spice level to your liking this is the key to really great chili!*
Step 4
Use sharp scissors to finely slice green onion tops directly into chili pot, squeeze in lime juice, stir, serve and enjoy!

Suggested Garnishes and add-ons!

Step 5
To double the servings try serving over white rice, brown rice or egg noodles! Try garnishing with lime wedges, fresh parsley, grated cheddar cheese, tortilla chips or sour cream!
