Hamblin homemade stuffing for thanksgiving

Based on Shirley (Hamblin Hummel)’s family PA Dutch recipe, but adding more spices. Her recipe was very moist (from the apple ) and more plain, usually topped with Turkey gravy. But I added thyme and sage to make it more “traditional” or popular with today’s expectations.

Step 1
Toast or dry out the bread(Bamas advice) and chop into cubes. Chop the celery and onions Sauté the onions and celery in 3 tablespoons of butter until onion is tender/more clear. Stir in half the bread cubes and the spices Stir in the remaining bread cubes
