SOUTHERN FRIED CABBAGE RECIPE

This recipe is a keto staple in my household. I love to make this when I don’t feel like cooking, but also want to have a flavorful and low carb meal. You can enjoy this as side dish or the main dish as well.

Instructions

Step 1
Remove outer layer of cabbage and discard.
Step 2
Cut cabbage in half and remove the core, then cut cabbage into wedges, about 1 inch in length.
Step 3
In a large skillet, add chopped bacon and cook until crispy.
Step 4
Remove bacon from the skillet and leave the oil.
Step 5
Cook sausage in remaining grease for 5-10 minutes or until crispy, then remove.
Step 6
Sauté onions and peppers, until soft. Add in cabbage and spices.
Step 7
Reduce heat and cover with the lid for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 8
Add sausage in and cover with lid for about another 10 minutes.
Step 9
Once cooked to desired tenderness, add in crispy bacon and serve while hot
