Step 1
Salt (optional) pinch
Step 2
- Combine the sugar and water together in a high side saucepot. On medium heat, bring to a boil, then simmer for 8-10 minutes ( Do Not Stir )
Step 3
- Warm the Whipping cream and vanilla in separate pot (do not boil)
Step 4
- Once the color turns golden / amber, add the butter and stir slowly until completely melted, and turn heat down to a simmer.
Step 5
- Slowly pour the cream and vanilla into the caramelized mixture and stir. ( be sure to scrape the sides of the pot to avoid sugar clumps.
Step 6
-Remove the Pot from heat and add a pinch of salt if desired. Let cool to room temperature before serving.
