Irish people love potatoes and so it’s no wonder we have so many simple recipes using potatoes just like this one . It’s an easy recipe that everyone will love . You can serve this with some fried eggs and bacon or even eat it with some garlic and herb butter . It’s very versatile !

Instructions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes then steam or boil them until fork tender . Drain and let the lid of for them to let out the steam and air fry a little .

Push the potatoes through a sieve or potato ricer then add salt white pepper and 2 tbsp butter and mix . Add flour and when it doesn’t stick to your hands anymore it’s ready to be shaped .
Lightly flour a surface and shape the potatoes into a disc . Farl means fourths so traditionally it’s cut into four but you can cut into six if you like .

Step 3
Melt 2 tbsp of butter in the pan on medium heat then add in the farls . Fry the first side about 6 minutes or until golden then flip and fry another few minutes . Serve as you like I usually add garlic and herb butter and eat them as they are .
