Ingredients

40 ozcanned jackfruit
green jackfruit in brine, drained
½ cuptamari
¼ cupLiquid Aminos
or soy sauce
½ cupagave nectar
maple syrup, or honey
1 cupwhite wine
or mirin
2 tablespoonsginger
fresh peeled, minced
8 clovesgarlic
peeled and chopped
1onion
medium, peeled and sliced
1green pear
cored and chopped
½ cupfresh cranberries
optional
4 tablespoonssesame oil
½ cupwater
Instructions
Step 1
Place the jackfruit in a crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Step 2
Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours.
Step 3
Turn the heat to high and cook for another hour to help absorb any remaining liquid.
Step 4
Use a firm spatula to break apart the jackfruit into pieces. It should break apart easily at this point.
