Instructions
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees 2. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat.
3. Blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
4. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
5. Remove from heat and stir in broth and milk. (Stir til well blended.)
6. Return to heat and heat to boiling stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
7. Add remaining ingredients.(I just cooked 1 cup of rice following the directions on the bag and then measured out half 1-1/2 cups) of it.
8. Pour into baking dish about 10 x 6 x 1-1/2 or a 1-1/2 quart casserole. (My casserole was deep -- 9 x 7 x 2-1/2 - inches)
9. Bake uncovered 40 to 45 minutes.
