Instructions

Step 1
Scald milk & stir in sugar, butter & salt. Let cool.
Step 2
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl for five minutes until bloomed.
Step 3
Stir in milk mixture, beat in eggs, lemon zest, mace & 1⁄2 of the flour. Beat until smooth
Step 4
Add nuts, raisons, fruit & enough flour to make soft dough. Mix & knead 10 minutes.
Step 5
Place in greased bowl turning dough to grease all sides. Cover & let rise until doubled in size – 1 hour or so.
Step 6
Roll half of dough into a 12 x 8 oval. Brush w melted butter. Fold one long side over the other. Firmly press folded edge so stolen will not spring open in baking. Place on a greased baking sheet & form into crescent shape w folded edge as inside curve. Repeat with other half.
Step 7
Cover & let rise until it doubles in size - one hour or so.
Step 8
Bake for 30 minutes at 350. Dust with powdered sugar before searving.
