Ingredients

12 ozegg noodles
1.5 lbstop sirloin steak
or New York strip, cut into 1- to 2-inch cubes
1 ½ tspkosher salt
1 ½ tspblack pepper
freshly ground
1 tspgarlic powder
3 Tbsall-purpose flour
4 TbsUnsalted Butter
2 Tbscanola oil
1yellow onion
small, cut into half moons
8 ozbutton mushrooms
or cremini, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 ½ cupsbeef broth
½ cupheavy cream
4 ozcream cheese
cubed
½ cupsour cream
1 tspfresh thyme leaves
chopped, optional
½ tspworcestershire
1 Tbsfresh parsley
chopped, or chives
Instructions
Step 1
1) Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
2) Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the beef, 1 tsp of the salt, 1 tsp of the pepper, the garlic powder, and 2 tbs of the flour. Toss to coat lightly.
Step 3
3) In a large skillet, heat 2 tbs of the butter and the oil to a sizzle over medium-high heat. add the beef and sear on all sides, turning as needed, until browned, 7-8 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the meat to a bowl. Set aside.
Step 4
Add the onion, mushrooms, and remaining 2tbs of butter to the pan with the drippings and saute until nicely browned, 6-7 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 tbs of flour and stir to coat well. Add the broth and cream and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a low simmer, then return the meat to the pan, stir, cover, and cook until the save is thickened and coats the back of a spoon, about 5 minutes. Uncover the skillet and add the cream cheese, sour cream, thyme, and Worcestershire. Stir to combine and simmer for 1 minute. Season with the remaining 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 pepper, stir and taste for seasoning. To serve, place the noodles on a plate and spoon the stroganoff on top. Sprinkle with the parsley.
