Instructions
Step 1
Cover the bulgur with boiling water and set aside for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Mash the beans with lemon juice, cumin, pepper flakes, bread crumbs, and wheat germ.
Step 3
Squeeze the water out of the bulgur. Stir the bulgur into the bean mixture with the beaten egg. Add salt to taste.
Step 4
Shape into small balls and flatten them so they are about ½-inch thick or slightly less.
Step 5
Heat oil in a frying pan. The oil should be at least ¼-inch deep. When the oil is hot, fry the falafels on both sides till lightly browned: drain on paper towels.
