Instructions
Step 1
Fry the sliced onions and finely chopped garlic with 2 tbsp water for 40 minutes, gently.
Step 2
Add a tablespoon of water every now and then to stop it from burning out.
Step 3
After 40 minutes, add the sugar and stir.
Step 4
Add the balsamic vinegar and bring to a boil, then immediately reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Squeeze in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper, then serve.
