Instructions
Step 1
In med. bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, & salt.
Step 2
In mixer, beat together butter, shortening, & brown sugar (3-4 min.) until well-blended, fluffy, & lighter in color.
Step 3
When sugar mixture is thoroughly creamed, add vanilla, maple syrup, & almond milk; beat again on high until smooth & fluffy.
Step 4
Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet to form dough.
Step 5
Add about half of chocolate chips into batter & mix. Add the rest of the chocolate chips to sm. plate.
Step 6
Chill dough (30 min. or more) (the longer, the better!)
Preheat oven to 400F
Step 7
When ready to bake, line a baking sheet with parchment. Split dough into three balls; dip each in plate of chocolate chips, so tops of are dotted in chocolate chips.
Step 8
Bake (10-14 min.) until golden brown.
Step 9
Remove from oven; immediately top each cookie with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Step 10
Serve immediately!
