Instructions

Step 1
Fill pot with water and handful of salt, place over high heat
Step 2
Preheat skillet over medium heat with a splash of oil
Step 3
Cool shallot and garlic in preheated pan with a pinch of salt for 3-4 minutes or until softened

Add in cherry tomatoes and red pepper flakes to pan, cover with lid
Step 5
Cook pasta according to instruction
Step 6
Before draining pasta, reserve 1 cup of water. Drain pasta.
Step 7
Crush tomatoes in skillet, forming the sauce and add the reserved water until desired consistency is reached
Step 8
Add in capers and basil to the sauce and stir
Step 9
Add pasta to sauce and mix together, turning off the heat
Step 10
Serve with parmesan
