Baked Beans

I shared a photo of this dish on my Instagram and I've had people ask me almost every day when I'm going to be sharing the recipe - so here it is, at last! I never used to like Heins Baked Beans but these are so delicious, it's impossible not to love them. When I first created the recipe, I loved them so much that I ate them almost everyday for at least a month! They are amazing for brunch with my Giant Hash Brown but they're equally delicious for lunch or dinner with my Marinated Kale Salad or with a simple side of brown rice.

Step 1
🍅 First peel and crush the garlic. Place it in a large saucepan with the tins of chopped tomatoes and the date syrup.
Step 2
🍅 Allow the mixture to boil and then cook over a low heat for about 30 minutes.
Step 3
🍅 At this point add the tomato purée, and the beans and cook with the sauce for another 10 minutes or so until everything is really hot and the sauce is nice and thick and not overly runny. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
