Pre-heat oven to 350°

Add the beef and sausage to a large skillet and cook over medium high heat being sure to crumble. Drain the meat and return to pan. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, stir into the meat mixture.

Add the spaghetti sauce and sugar (stir well) then cover and simmer over low heat. Let it simmer for fifteen minutes.

In a large bowl, add the ricotta cheese, one cup of mozzarella, 1/4 cup of parmesan, and the egg. Mix until well combined.

In a 13x9 inch baking pan start your layering process. A ladle come in handy for the sauce. Cover the bottom of the pan with a thin layer of sauce.

Layer three noodles, 1/3 of ricotta mixture, sauce about 2 ladles. Repeat the layers twice.
Step 7
The final layer will be noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan.
Step 8
Use non stick cooking spray to coat a piece of aluminum foil then cover the lasagna and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes.
