Ingredients

1onion
garlic
2green chillies
1 TbspSalt
or to taste
1 Tbspred chilli powder
1 Tbspcumin seeds
500gminced meat
1 Tbspblack pepper
0.5Tomatoe purree
mixed vegetables

bolognaise sauce
For the mash
Instructions
Step 1
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan , Add the chopped onions and cook until tender, about 6 to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Add ground beef to the pan and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add water when needed to stop the meat from drying.
Step 3
When soft, add the chopped garlic and the cut green chillies.
Step 4
Add 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp salt and 1 tbsp jeera.
Step 5
Add half a tomato purée and mix well.
Step 6
Add mixed vegetables and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 7
Add your choice of bolognaise sauce
Step 8
Taste the cooked filling and, if needed, add more salt, pepper, or other seasonings of your choice.
Step 9
Place the peeled and quartered potatoes in medium sized pot with water. Add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender (about 20 minutes).
Step 10
When the potatoes are done cooking (a fork can easily pierce), remove them from the pot and place them in a bowl.
Step 11
Add 4 tbsp of butter 3 tbsp of milk and mix all together.
Step 12
Spread the cooked filling in an even layer in a large baking dish.
Step 13
Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the ground beef. Rough up the surface of the mashed potatoes with a fork so there are peaks.
Step 14
Place in a 400°F oven and cook until browned and bubbling, about 30 minutes.
