We as a family love onion pakoras especially on a rainy day. The deep fried onions in chickpea batter are heaven ! But this recipe replicates the same taste with a fraction of the oil in the air fryer. Enjoy!

Step 2
Sprinkle salt, red chili powder and turmeric and mix well. Cover and let it rest for about 30 minutes (optional).
Step 3
After 30 minutes, the onion would have become moist and shrunk a bit. Sprinkle the Caron seeds and mix.
Step 4
Add chickpea flour one tablespoon at a time mixing well. If the mixture is too thick add a few teaspoons of water. The mixture should reach dropping consistency but not runny.
Step 5
If the mixture is too runny, adjust the flour and adjust the seasoning accordingly.
Step 6
Preheat the air fryer.
Step 7
Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Drop about a tablespoon of onion mixture on the tray. Around 8-10. Spray oil over the mixture again.
Step 8
Set the air fryer at 375 degrees and air-fry it for 8 minutes, turning them over midway.
