fresh, usa, with stem - cut in half, leave core attached, core and peel
1 cupwhole wheat pastry flour
½ cupall-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoonsbaking powder
1 teaspoonbaking soda
½ teaspoonsalt
½ teaspoonground cinnamon
¼ teaspoonpumpkin spice
2 teaspoonscocoa-unsweetened
½ cupextra virgin olive light oil
or avocado oil
½ cupplain greek yogurt
1 teaspoonpure vanilla extract
2eggs
large
2 tablespoonsmaple syrup
⅔ cupalmond milk
¼ cuppecans
chopped

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350◦F
Step 2
Coat a loaf pan (9 X 5 inch) with cooking spray. Set aside.
Step 3
Place pears that are peeled, cored, cut into pieces into a food processor and puree. Set aside.
Step 4
Spoon flours into dry measuring cups and level with a knife.
Step 5
In a medium bowl, whisk flours together with the next 6 ingredients (through cocoa).
Step 6
In a large bowl combine oil, yogurt, vanilla extract, eggs, syrup, almond milk and pureed pears and beat with a hand mixer on low speed for 2 minutes until combined.
Step 7
Add flour mixture to above mixture and beat at a low speed just until combined for about 2 minutes (don’t over mix.)
Step 8
Spoon batter into prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle pecans evenly on top.
Step 9
Arrange pear halves into the loaf pan, pressing each into batter.
Step 10
Bake bread in loaf pan for 50 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 11
Cool in pan for 10 minutes and then carefully remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
