I do a series on Tiktok called Kitchen Basics 101, where I teach the barebones basics, as if you have never cooked a day in your life, from the perspective of a mom. You can watch me step by step cook this and all my other recipes there!
This classic takeout favorite can be made at home with pretty basic ingredients. It’s fast, flavorful & satisfying! It can be further elevated with a splash of oyster sauce & dark Shoyu ( soy sauce ) if you have it!

Instructions
Step 1
First we make up the sauce, while letting our meat come up to room temperature & putting our rice on to cook
Step 2
Combine chicken stock, cornstarch, brown sugar, shoyu, toasted sesame oil, garlic, ginger & pepper together in a large measuring cup & whisk to combine & set aside
Step 3
Heat a large skillet or wok up and add a tablespoon of oil to pan. Carefully brown meat on med/high heat until 75% cooked through or just brown in color. Remove meat & set aside.
Step 4
Add more oil if needed to pan & sauté broccoli for 5ish minutes until bright green with some browned caramelized crispy bits. Just starting to get tender.
Step 5
Add meat back to pan with broccoli 🥦 and give your sauce, you set aside, another good whisk before adding it to beef & broccoli.
Step 6
Let this bubble away until sauce become thick & glossy & flavors are combined 🤗 serve over a bed of delicious rice 🍚 and enjoy
