Instructions
Step 1
Boil dates and bicarb with water to cover for 5mins
Drain but reserve liquid
Step 2
Purée drained dates with 3 TBls liquid
Step 3
Melt butter and sugar and syrup together until smooth
Stir in oats
Step 4
Press 1/2 oat mixture into baking tray
And spread over date mixture
The cover with other 1/2 oats
Step 5
Bake for 40mins at 160C
Then leave to cool for 10
Cut into 16
