I’ve been making this chutney for 25 years. It’s a Thanksgiving holiday requirement; my family does not permit me to experiment with anything else.

Instructions
Step 1
Combine the water and sweetener in a large saucepan. Bring it to a boil, and stir until they dissolve.
Step 2
Add the oranges and ginger.
Step 3
Simmer on low, uncovered, until the oranges soften, 20-25 minutes.
Step 4
Add the cranberries, cinnamon, and cloves. Cook, uncovered, until the cranberries pop and the mixture thickens. This takes 10-15 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in the raisins and cook until big bubbles appear, about 7 minutes.
Step 6
Let cool. Serve at room temperature.
