Add ins are wonderful in this recipe. Also, I subbed in 1 cup of Rye flour (it is safe for dogs) with 1-1/2 c whole wheat flour for one batch. They are darker in color and smell wonderfully nuttier when baking. Dogs scarfed them up.
Use this base for everything and change the flours, add blueberries, or a banana or even 1/4 cup finely chopped mangoes or even finely minced sunflower seeds. This recipe is a workhorse.
