Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 450.
Step 2
In a pan, heat the oil and saute the diced onions for 3 minutes over high heat, till softened.
Step 3
Lower the heat to Medium, add the shredded cabbage and saute for 4 minutes.
Step 4
Add the sugar, salt, pepper and mix well. Lower the heat to medium-low and saute for another 2-4 minutes or so.
Step 5
Dice the pastrami and then add it to the pan, take heat up to Medium and cook everything together for another 1-2 minutes.
Step 6
Prepare thawed puff pastry squares, add a heaping tablespoon of the pastrami mixture on each and fold diagonally to form a triangle shape.
Step 7
Seal each turnover well with a fork around the edges.
Step 8
Place turnovers on a lined cookie sheet.
Step 9
Brush turnovers with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Step 10
Bake in preheated oven at 450 for about 14 minutes, or till golden.
