Easy Leftover Chicken Bone Broth

Whether you roasted a bone in chicken or purchased a cooked rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, the remaining bones can be used to make the most delicious home made chicken stock/broth. It's so EASY to make and takes only a few minutes to prepare, the rest of the time it is left alone simmering on the stove to really break down and absorb all the ingredients into the liquid gold. It can be stored in the fridge for 4 days or frozen for 4 months.

Instructions

Step 1
Place bones, and all ingredients above into a large pot. Put only 10 cups of the water in to begin with and bring to a boil. It's ok if there's meat and skin left on some of the chicken bones it will all add to the flavor in the broth.
Step 2
It should taste a little bit saltier than you like as when it reduces, more water will be added in and dilute the saltiness.
Step 3
Once boiling, reduce heat to a low simmer and leave it to simmer for 3-4 hours. The liquid will reduce and at this point, add 2 more cups of water and let it simmer for 10-15 more minutes.
