Instructions

Step 1
Heat up one cup of oil in a pot. In a small pan, heat up the peppercorns, cinnamon, bay leaves and star anise until fragrant. Add the spices into the hot oil for just a minute or two so that it’s nice and aromatic. In a heat proof jar, add the pepper powders and salt. Carefully strain the oil into the jar. Keep the cinnamon stick and a couple pieces of the star anise in the jar. Cover and store in pantry. This should keep for at least a few months, just remember to use a clean utensil when serving to preserve the freshness.
