Instructions
Step 1
Create your rub by mixing all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Step 2
Cover both sides of the ribs completely with the dry rub and then place bones down in a crock pot or slow cooker - you may have to adjust the amount depending upon the size of your rack of ribs.
Step 3
Use enough to cover the entire surface area.
Step 4
(Don't add the Dr. Pepper yet.)
Step 5
Place the lid on the slow cooker and turn the heat to high for 30 minutes.
Step 6
Turn the heat down to low, remove the lid and pour 1 bottle/can of Dr. Pepper over the ribs.
Step 7
Then squeeze enough Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce to completely cover the rack of ribs - about 2/3 of the bottle.
Step 8
Replace the lid and cook on low for 6 1/2 hours.
Step 9
Turn oven broiler on high.
Step 10
Turn off slow cooker and unplug.
Step 11
Using tongs or a large slotted spoon, carefully remove ribs and place them on a foil-lined baking sheet.
Step 12
Discard juice from slow cooker.
Step 13
Coat/cover the ribs generously with the remaining Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
Step 14
Place them under the broiler for about 3-5 minutes, or long enough to create a nice crisp outer layer and to help carmelize the sauce.
Step 15
Watch carefully not to char or burn!
Step 16
Remove the ribs from the oven.
