Step 1
Mix the first three items and add the sifted sugar slowly.
Step 2
Dry the cherries off using a paper towel but keep the stems attached.
Step 3
Take a pinch of the dough and flatten it into a disc.
Step 4
Place a cherry on the disc and wrap the dough completely around it. Set the wrapped cherry on a cookie sheet.
Step 5
Save a ball of dough to cover the hole left after dipping. After all of the cherries are wrapped, place the cookie sheet in the freezer to firm up the dough.
Step 6
Melt the almond bark in a bowl. The cherries will be dipped in the bowl to cover them with chocolate.
Step 7
Take the chilled, dough covered cherries out of the freezer.
Step 8
Pick up a cherry by the stem and dip it in the melted chocolate being careful to stay away from the bottom of the stem. Allow some of the chocolate to drip off before placing it back on the cookie sheet.
Step 9
After a cookie sheet is full of cherries that are mostly covered, place the cookie sheet back in the freezer to firm up the chocolate.
Step 10
After the chocolate is firm, remove the cookies sheet from the freezer and carefully remove the stems. You may need to press two fingers near the base of the stem to remove it without pulling off the sugar coating. If some if the coating it lifted up, press it back down to fill in the hole left by the stem removal.
Step 11
Hold onto the flat bottom of the cherry and dip the top into the chocolate to cover the rest of the cherry. Place the flat side back down on the cookie sheet.
Step 12
The cookie sheet can be placed back in the freezer one last time to firm up the chocolate you just added.
