The Meat
The Marinade
2 Tbsponion powder
2 Tbspgarlic powder
2 Tbsp7 spices
1 Tbspcumin
1 Tbsppaprika
2 tspsalt
2 tsppepper
¼ tspnutmeg
½ tspcinnamon
⅓ cupwhite vinegar
For Cooking
2white onions
Large, halves vertically and thinly sliced
4Tomatoes
Large, diced
1 cupfresh Parsley
finely chopped
2 Tbspbutter
2 Tbspoil
⅛ cupvinegar

Instructions
Step 1
- Marinate the meat and leave it covered in the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours
Step 2
- Heat the oil in a large pan till it’s steaming hot
Step 3
- Over high heat, stir the meat till it releases all its juices and then lower the heat to medium and stir occasionally till the meat is fully cooked. This should only take a 2-3 minutes as the meat is thinly sliced.
Step 4
- if necessary, cook the meat in 2 or 3 batches to avoid overcrowding the meat.
Step 5
- When the meat is almost cooked, add the butter, onions and tomatoes and the vinegar and stir it over high heat till the onions and tomatoes are softened.
Step 6
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, stir in the fresh parsley and it’s ready.
Serving Suggestion
Step 7
In a large serving plate, start with a layer of rice, put the shawerma on top, drizzle with Tahini paste and the crispy fried bread all around the rice.
Step 8
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and toasted pine nuts.
