500gboneless chicken thighs
thinly sliced

3 Tbspolive oil

3garlic cloves
minced

1 Tbsppaprika

1 tspcumin

1 tspturmeric

1 tspcoriander powder

½ tspcinnamon

½ tspcayenne pepper
optional, for heat

1 Tbsplemon juice

1 tspsalt

½ tspblack pepper

4pita breads

1 cupGreek yogurt
or tahini sauce

1 cupshredded lettuce

1tomato
sliced

1cucumber
sliced

Pickles
optional

fresh parsley
for garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Get the marinade ready:
Olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, turmeric, coriander powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper should all be combined in a mixing dish. Stir thoroughly.
Make sure that every piece of chicken thighs is thoroughly covered by adding them to the marinade in thin slices. Refrigerate, covered, for at least two hours (preferably overnight).
Step 2
Heat a skillet:
Or grill pan over medium-high heat to cook the chicken. Drizzle some olive oil on top.
Place the marinated chicken slices on the pan using tongs. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, 4–5 minutes per side.
Step 3
Assemble the toppings:
Preheat the pita bread in the oven or toaster while the chicken cooks.
Prepare the lettuce and cut the cucumbers and tomatoes into slices.
Step 4
To assemble the Shawarma:
Cover the pita bread with a layer of tahini sauce or Greek yoghurt.
Add the pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cooked chicken slices.
Tightly roll the pita and garnish with fresh parsley.
Step 5
Serve and Savour:
Savour your delicious chicken shawarma right away, with extra sauce on the side!
