Instructions

Step 1
Wash and drain 2/3 rice cooker cup or ½ US cup (100g) long grain rice in the regular size bowl 3 to 4 times OR 1 cup rice cooker cup or 3/4 US cup (150g)
Step 2
Then, fill the bowl with water and allow the rice to soak for 10 minutes. Do not over soak or you will get broken grains of rice.
Step 3
After 10 minutes, discard the soaking water.
Step 4
Add 1 cup rice cooker cup or ¾ US cup (180ml) water to the rice in the bowl OR 1 1/4 cup rice cooker cup or 1 US cup (240ml).
Step 5
The water level will come right up to the top of the bowl.
Step 6
Place bowls in a steaming rack.
Step 7
Prepare a steamer with boiling water over medium high heat.
Step 8
Transfer steaming rack onto the prepared steamer.
Step 9
Cover and steam for 20 minutes.
Step 10
After 20 minutes, turn off stove and allow the cooked rice to sit in the steamer for 5 minutes.
Step 11
After the 5 minutes, remove the steamed rice from the steamer.
Step 12
Serve the fluffy steamed rice immediately.
