1 lbstewing Beef Cubes

2 Tbspolive oil

¼ cupflour

¾ cuponion
diced

½ cupcarrot
sliced

½ cupcelery
diced

1leek
cleaned and diced

6garlic cloves
peeled

1potato
peeled and diced

1bay leaf

3 sprigsfresh thyme

4 cupswater

4beef bouillon cubes

1green apple
cored and chopped

2 Tbspworcestershire sauce

1 tspsalt

¼ tspblack pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Brown the beef cubes in olive oil. Sprinkle the flour over the meat and stir to coat and distribute.
Step 2
Add the onions, carrots, celery, leek, garlic, potato, bay leaf, thyme sprigs, and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 60 minutes. Add the chopped apple and cook until tender but still firm.
Step 3
Remove the bay leaf and thyme sprigs. Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Serve hot.
