Apple Pie Turnovers

These apple pie turnovers are the perfect weekend breakfast. Using store-bought puff pastry makes them easy to make & they are so delicious. Like biting into a flaky apple pie for breakfast!

Instructions

Step 1
In a saucepan over medium heat add the butter, apples, brown sugar, cider & cinnamon. Stir to combine & continue cooking until the apples are softened, about 5 minutes.
Step 2
Sprinkle the apples with cornstarch & cook until mixture thickens, about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Remove from heat & set aside to cool.
Step 4
On a lightly floured surface roll out puff pastry sheets & slice each sheet into 4 squares.
Step 5
Evenly divide the mixture in the center of each square & brush the edges with egg wash. Fold over corner to corner to create the turnover shape & press the edges with a fork to seal.
Step 6
Brush the top with egg wash & bake at 375(f) degrees until golden, about 12 to 15 minutes.
