Penne Pasta Alfredo with Shrimp and Mushrooms

Instructions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add 6 tsp sugar, 3 tsp baking soda, 1 cup cold water, stir until sugar is dissolved.
Step 2
Add shrimp to mixing bowl, add more cold water to cover shrimp. Cover with ice cubes and place bowl in fridge.
Step 3
Add water to pasta pot and bring to a boil. Once water starts to boil add 1 tsp, salt, 1 tbsp. olive oil. Reduce temperature to medium and add 4 cups pasta. Cook, stirring occasionally until pasta is cooked to your preferred texture.
Step 4
Pour Alfredo sauce into a pot, and warm over medium/low heat. Stirring occasionally.
Step 5
In a large skillet add 1 tbsp olive oil and heat over medium high temperature. Once oil is hot add the pressed garlic, stir and cook for a minute, add sliced mushrooms, 1/4 tsp salt. Stir and cook until heated thoroughly.
Step 6
Remove mushrooms from pan and place in pot with the Alfredo sauce, stir to combine and reduce heat to simmer.
Step 7
Remove ice cubes and water from Shrimp. Place shrimp in a single layer in hot pan from mushrooms. Add 1/2 tsp garlic salt, 1/4 tsp white pepper, 1 tsp paprika. Stir to evenly combine spices. Cook for 2 minutes then flip shrimp and cook for an addition; 2 minutes.
Step 8
Once shrimp are cooked add to sauce pot with alfredo sauce and mushrooms. Stir to combine. Then stir in the diced tomatoes.
Step 9
Drain pasta pot.
Step 10
Place desired amount of pasta on your plate, cover with desired amount of sauce. Top with chopped parsley and shredded parmesan cheese. Enjoy.
