Cassava and Plantain Fufu

Instructions

Step 1
Peel and cut the cassava root into chunks. Transfer them to a bowl filled with water to wash off the excess start (leave it there for at least 30 minutes)
Step 2
Peel and cut the plantain into chunks as well. Add them to a powerful blender with the washed cassava. Blend (add some water if necessary to help you) until liquid.
Step 3
Into a pot on medium heat, add the mixture and start mixing with a wooden spoon. Keep stirring for 10 minutes or until starting to be thick. Lower the heat and cover the pot, cook for another 5 minutes and mix again
Step 4
Place the fufu (now very thick) into parchment paper or plastic wrap and use it to eat a soup or another west African dish!
