Instructions
Step 1
Lightly brown beef, set aside
Step 2
Heat 1 tbs olive oil, sauté onions until tender. Add garlic, sauté until fragrant (about 2 minutes) return beef to pan.
Step 3
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, herbs, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes
Step 4
Assembly: in 13x9x2 lightly greased glass baking dish.
Step 5
1. Add 1 cup of sauce to bottom 2. Lay down first layer of noodles over sauce 3. Cover noodles in sauce 4. Layer cheese over sauce 5. Place noodles over cheese 6. Repeate steps 3 & 4. 7. Lay down 3rd layer of noodles, cover with remaining sauce and cheese.
Step 6
Cover with tinfoil, bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Remove tinfoil, return to oven for 10 minutes. Rest at least 10 minutes before serving.
