Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F

Step 2
In a stand mixer with a dough hook or in a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients.

Step 3
Next, pour in water, then mix until it begins to form a dough.
Step 4
If using stand mixer, continue mixing on a low speed, scraping sides as needed. Add more flour if dough looks too sticky (it's ok if it's a little sticky)

Step 5
If using hands, knead until a soft dough forms, adding more flour as needed (it's ok if it's a little sticky)
Step 6
Transfer dough to a large, oiled bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place (I put it on the stove so the heat of the preheating oven will warm the area) for 30 minutes.

Step 7
After 30 minutes, punch out the air and transfer to a buttered, 9X5 loaf pan. Form the dough into an even loaf shape, butter the top and let rise until it reaches the top of the loaf pan, about 15 minutes.

Step 8
After dough has risen to the top of the loaf pan, place in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, rotate 180°, then bake an additional 20 minutes.

Step 9
Once baking is complete, remove from loaf pan and place on a cutting board or wire rack. Let cool completely before slicing.
